Teaching ... it's a vocation that has always been in my family. From my grandfather who played a key role in the Otago Education Board in the 1930s, down through my uncles who were all school inspectors and/ or principals, to my mother who taught for years and now my siblings who are in the field of education, one a counsellor at a high school, one a recently retired IToD (Itinerant Teacher of the Deaf) and one an H.O.D. of French (albeit that she has defected to Australia!) 

I spent the first 18 of my teaching years in Christchurch, mostly at a school that was so multi-national that my last class there had 25 students from 17 different countries! Three years ago we decided it was time to move - being chased away by the earthquakes and the ramifications of them. Moving to the stunning Bay of Plenty - with its unbeatable outdoor opportunities was a no-brainer and we will certainly be here to stay! Since the shift in 2013 I have taught in various B.O.P. schools before changing direction completely to work as an Resource Teacher of Learning and Behaviour (R.T.L.B.)

Here I am sharing my learning journey from Mindlab with you - it is exciting to be able to use technology as a vehicle for a community of like minded learners to develop and grow together!
